Default D.U.I. or MSD?

Which would you pick? Which do you prefer? What can you say about either? Looking for your opinions so I can make a solid choice!
Tried looking for a definitive answer, but looking for some fresh and current information.

This is the MSD kit I'm currently looking at:
http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD+Ignition/121/85551K/10002/-1

This is the D.U.I. series I am interested in:
http://www.performancedistributors.com/gmracedui.htm

Any info you have, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I went with DUI. They are a family run company and stand behind their products.

they're both good , I've run both, I like DUI cause of the support, I like MSD cause of all the extra gizmo's that you dont really need but look really cool, they both work well. You call MSD , you leave a message and they call back, you call DUI and you talk to them right then.

DUI.
Davis Unified Ignition.

I have a spare DUI HEI upgrade kit with their ignition module, Coil, Cap, & rotor in the garage I keep at all times.

In case a local racer needs it.

Much more reliable than MSD's when racing.
No spark box to fail suddenly.
Lose the race then.
Has happened several times that way for people I have known using MSD's.
Knew 1 frustrated racer that took his MSD box off & smashed it with a sledgehammer.

DUI offers the TPI - L98 ignition modules also.

7- pin ignition modules.

& Vortech style ignition modules that mount on a separate heat sink.

They have a website.
Check it out for yourself.

I have used both, and they each did the job just fine.

DUI, support is exellant, no box to wire or mount, cheaper, But no built in rev limit, one is available as a add on.

MSD, has an adjustable rev limiter, very expandable with retard boxes ect, I have had a box crap out on me. Trouble shooting guide is on their web site.

D.U.I.
Davis Unified Ignition Systems.
Used to be Memphis Distributors.
Same company & owner,
changed the company name in the late 1990's.
They have been around since 1986.

I have a copy of their original 1986 product catalog here at home.
I have Lots of racing literature & catalogs from 1960's to present.
I save it all.

When I do get a new distro, I'm going with the DUI. Drop-in install and no extras to mount or wires to run.

You'll have to upload those documents Brian. I would like to see them!

OK.

I am computer handi capped mechanic if no one has ever told You or not.

Wife does have a scanner here.

Only she knows how to do that stuff.

Have lots of cool vintage magazine write ups from back in the day when these C4's were new.
Think everyone would enjoy the reading & pics.

Find lots of cool things on ebay for $.50 cents to $2.

I am going diff route for my N20 use.

I am keeping original GM dist. replacing the module and coil with:

MSD-8401 HEI cap
SUM-G5215 external coil
Summit ignition box($145)

MSD replaces the stock cap that hides the internal coil and gives a place to plug the external coil into.

And a coil wire from autozone. Now I see DUI does not offer a rpm limiter. That is good as my ECU can handle that.
