Small orange spring from TH700R???
Hello mates, I need a big help related to a small spring I found.
I own a 84 Vette whit TH700R tranny. I am trying to repair the gearbox and... When almost everything was Ok i found on the ground a small painted in orange spring. I did not realize where and wnen come from this spring. I am not sure if came from the gearbox but with this color must be from there.
I changed all the o-rings and clutches, I did not open the valves on the valve body (only change the joints and clean around) So I am sure it's not from the inside of the valve body.
The spring is: 0.33in long (8.6mm) and 0.23in wide (6.0mm)

Its the 2-4 band servo pin return spring.
Installs inside of the 700R4 trans case 1st the red spring shown in your photo.
Then install the 2-4 servo pin.
Install the 2nd servo piston housing with Red outer O-ring intact,
inside of the trans case.
Install the 2nd servo assembly.
Install the 4th servo.
Install the "E" clip or Jesus clip.
Install the outer 2-4 servo cover.
Push straght down firm on the outer 2-4 cover with a wooden hammer handle or similar.
Install the large round wire retainer.
2-4 servo assembly installed correct & done.
