I´d like an opinion about Toyo Proxes tires. I need to replace the old ones (Falken). The price for Toyo is very good (half the price compared to Michelin, Good Year and Bridgestone). What do you think?
I don't know about them on the vette, but I have them on my expedition and they ride nice and grip the wet roads really well. they are still fairly new, so I don't know about tire wear.
the ONLY toyo tire worth buying performance wise is the T1-S it's a 260 or 280 compound but it has a great sidewall and casing design. the other toyo tires like the z4 are junk. kuhmo makes a outstanding tire called the 712 that isn't half bad for the money and tire rack will sell them all day long. if you've priced the T1-S you might realize it's not exactly cheap but it is a good tire. if you drive mostly dry yokohamas A520 is another just killer bargin.
I've got a set on my car and love them so far. They seem to waer very good, or maybe i should say not wear. And they handle really good at high speeds without wandering much on uneven roads.
the z1 is the tire i hated so bad, try some of the others, the kuhmos are NIGHT AND DAY better and even cheaper, i tetsed these back to back. the T1-S is a great tire but for the price of the z1 there are a LOT of better tires for the buck. yoke 520, bridgestone 730, disapointing is what i would call a z1..if you have z1s switch to even something like a kuhmo...you'll have more traction. & this is still staying on cheap tires, moving into something like a BFG kd, supercar or pilot would really make you smile
