You sure?

Nipple for the bypass is on the heater return line that goes to water pump ( suction ).
Picks up the return line from oil cooler on KC4 equipped cars as shown

Oh geesh - Middle School Physical Science: There is no such thing as a vacuum or what some refer to as suction; but there are pressure differentials which are also commonly referred to as (high) positive and negative (lower). The high (positive) will always attempt to fill the low (negative). In this instance, the size of the hoses creates the pressure differential. And what's exiting the Core (where it's been cooled) is drawn in or will seek/fill the low which is created by the smaller hose that leads to the Manifold.
