Default Lt4 Conversion ?

Well new to this forum but not the lt1 community. I just got a really insane deal on lt4 conversion kit brand new. i have a built 355 bottom end thats waiting on some heads. My ? i guess im looking for around 375 to the wheels. Just wondering if any lt4 guys out there acheived this with mildy ported lt4 heads and the hotcam?. I do have all supporting mods 12 bolt w 4:11's 30# injectors 58mm tb etc.. i know if i get a bigger cam im sure i can hit my numbers but dont really want to spend $ on new springs and cam etc.. id soon just sell all lt4 stuff and buy le2 setup. any input would be great thanks guys

So you're looking to get about 420 at the engine. (Manual?) just from mild porting and a Hotcam? Most people think the LT4 was about 340-350 in stock trim so you want 70-80 more from a cam and mild port. That's probably not going to happen. IMHO you'd be a lot better off with the LE2 setup. More power for sure.

The extra expense would'nt justify it for me.I have seen 355 rwhp out of a stock lt4 with a hotcam, elec water pump, long tube headers, and a tune.

A little extra compression and a race valve job may improve that slightly.Be careful of porting lt4 heads. The runners are large as is.I would concentrate on bowl porting, and around the guide but not the runners.

Extra expense as in buying and le2? or the lt4 conversion?... I already bought lt4 conversion (brand new still in gm boxes) with hot cam kit from a friend for very little with true lt4 intake(also new in box)... so i could sell it and make $ im pretty sure... just figured i have it already and i have a built 355 why not put it together over winter and put it in... i was going to purchase le2 setup but like i said this came up and i couldnt pass it up. Just seen some people over on z28 board with similar setups pushing around 375 just curious as if any of the lt4 vette guys out there have seen 375 to the wheels with hotcam and ported heads/intake along with supporting mods.... thanks for the responses guys.

My current lt1 setup put down 292 to rear wheels and thats with bolt ons and a tune....

I would'nt sell what you have for an LE2 personally.I may sell the hotcam and look into Advanced Induction for one of their grinds and you would likely meet your goal.

http://www.advancedinduction.com/LTX/AiLTxCamKit.php

The Ai 226/234 would make good power and have driveability as well.
