Default Dual Exaust maybe Sidepipes?

Hi everyone,

Last winter I worked on the intake of my vet. Had a lot of fun getting to know my car and getting over being afraid to put a wrech to her. While replacing the bad Multitechs with Jon's B3s I ported the plenum, runners and installed roller rockers. Then cleaned and painted the valve covers and oxidized alluminum parts before reinstalling them. The motor runns as good as it looks now. I get lots of compliments on how good the engine looks and sounds.

This winter I want to get under the car and make it a true dual exaust. What I would really like to do is put a set of Hooker headers and side pipes on her.

Any advice?

Thanks

Default side pipes

The following link contains some C4 side pipe photos. I think they look great on C3s, but not so great on C4s. You decide........

Don't do it!

Side pipes will kill your ground clearance. Speed bumps will be your nemesis.

It's fairly easy to convert a pre-LT1/4 C4 to true duals. Buy ANY aftermarket LT1/4 exhaust system you like. Go to GM and buy LT1/4 muffler hangers (trans and 3rd member), bolt it in and have a muffler shop bend your head pipe from the header to the exhaust.

I did mine with a Corsa system...had head pipes bent out of stainless and never looked back. System still perfect after >10 years.

I agree when I look at the photos. But I was thinking more like a C3 Hooker headers that come out from under the car with 4" side pipes.
