Oil Pressure Sending Unit
Hello all..
Where is the Oil Pressure Sending Unit located on an Automatic 87 Coupe ?
And what does it look like ?
And, any tips on proper installation ?
Thank you for your time,
Harry

This is for the L98
I just bought one from Ecklers. It was here in Italy in 4 days.
Unless this is position unlike any other car, it'll be screwed into the plate that you screw the oil filter onto. Don't forget to use silicon tape.

87 has the sender behind the distributor, to the driver side. Its sort of bell shaped. It has a pressure switch teed into it. I'l see if I can find a pic.

Installed, it looks sort of like the one on this Range Rover. (except its by the distributor not the filter)

Well, would you look at that. It is different. Figures...
This is on a truck, but it's a similar SBC as we use.
*edit*
However, I just went out and actually looked. (it's cold outside. Leave me alone.)
Then what is that? Granted, I can't get under it right now and actually look at it, but that's where it has been an a thousand other cars.

Ahhh, okay. The picture that I posted is the correct location, but it's angled down further. It helps to use a real flashlight instead of my phone.
It looks like it will be a PITA to get to. Small hands, or remove the distributor. Don't forget to mark your distributor before you take it out. If you don't, you'll end up doing a TDC timing job. Save yourself time and a lot of cuss words.
