Can someone describe whats going on with my transmission? Every so often my trans acts as if it doesnt have a 2nd gear. Sometimes it just revs and other times it fine. Last week after coming to a red light, the car would not shift into 2nd gear. After I let of the gas and the rpms went down, I heard a clunk, the the car shifted normal all day.

There is a problem with the 2nd gear servo in the 2-4 servo assembly that activates the 2-4 band.
Or there is a problem with the stock sun gear shell.
Sun gear shell may be cracked or half stripped out splines.
The 2-4 servo assembly can be serviced without removing the trans from your Corvette.
