Default Callaway TT MAP sensor location

Hey guys,

I'm just wanting to confirm that the MAP sensor location on a Callaway twin turbo car is on the underside of the manifold.

I've heard and read that it may be on the firewall but we're fairly certain its not there.

Thanks

As far as I'm aware, the Callaway's are all MAF cars. However, I assume that there must be a MAP sensor somewhere that is used for the micro fueler/AIC controller. Maybe its integrated into the microfueler.

Good point.

It's throwing a MAP code on my Snap-On scanner.

I can see a 2-wire pigtail inserting on the direct underside of the manifold, but can't actually see a sensor or anything. I was wanting confirmation before proceeding with any work.

Its a MAF car, no map sensor to my knowledge. The Microfueler worked off a vacuum line...kicked on when positive manifold pressure was read.

The car you're referring to is an 88. It has the 100+ kit so its going to have a slightly different that stock configuration ala the EGR etc.

Ok, so did Callaway delete the MAP sensor? I'm just wondering why it's throwing the code.

Im not aware that MAF cars had MAP sensors, Im pretty sure they didn't (that's either L98 or B2k)... only the speed density (90-91) cars had MAP sensors(including the b2k's).

Try this.

If it is a 90 or 91 that MAP will be located here like all plain l-98's.

The only sensor I know that goes under the plenum on an L98 is the air temp sensor. which is a decent sized hole. Are you sure the code is not for a MAT sensor? Just checking.

The reason I say this is because the MAP should be a 3 wire sensor. A MAT sensor located under the plunum is a 2 wire.

Doing a little digging.

Code 33 appears to be a MAP code on the 90/91's
on the 80whatever to 89, code 33 is a MAF sensor related

I think that's supposed to read MAP.
