Hello for any of you who have used/seen a FIRST intake or another intake with a larger throttle body what did you use for the bellow from the MAF to the throttle body?
IIRC the FIRST throttle body is a shade over 100 mm on the outer edge and my old bellow won't quite stretch that far. Thank you.
I took that problem to the good folks at BBK/Edlebrock many yrs ago and they came up with a larger adaptor that was available in the catalogs. Look at E-Bay and the vette sellers in catalogs and online.
In the meantime you can use a rubber reducing cone that is big enough to fit the throttle body almost exactly and the small end fits the MAF perfectly. I found various lengths/sizes at a plumbing supply store...its a different reduction rate than the 1:1 of the stock cone, more like a stepped reducer but it works and best of all it fits. Hose clamps seal it to the T-body and maf end.
I think it was a 4" to 3" reducer...stiff enough to not collapse but soft enough to mold around the oval shape of the T-body and clamp on securely. I've been using one for many yrs after the other large bore cones got hard to find. Expensive too....This cost $5...the smooth bore big cone from a catalog was $50

FIRST has their own bellows that you can purchase from them. Have u contacted them?
Yeah I did after I posted this and as usual Ken was cool to deal with. They said they had one that I could buy from them or www.spectre.com. It's fun to see how others have tackled the problem also.
