I just completed the conversion using a kit from Doug Rippie Motorsports.It can be done in a home shop. The most dificult part is replacing the old bushings. When it's all done...WOW !

The handling is much improved. The rear wheel hop, when you corner on an uneven road surface is gone. The steering is like a go cart.
Only problem may be that I opted for a spring rate that is going to be too heavy for a car that is driven mostly on the street. I'll let you know in a few weeks.
So far, I'm very pleased with the results. Before I can realy see how well it will corner, I have to replace my rear tyres...someone wore them out...
the only benefit of a coilover conversion on a Vette is the ease of tunability in regard to spring rate and ride height adjustments; the coilover conversion actually increases unsprung weight, and 84/87 Vettes require mods to the front shock towers- no real benefits for the street
