Default TunerPro RT Suddenly Not Working?

Recently drove my new 383 stroker home, and the whole way home was datalogging the run with tunerpro rt.

I parked the car, took the laptop in the house. The next day I tried connecting to the ECM with the ALDL cable and i don't get anything. I am using a USB cable from aldlcable.com

I tried connecting with WinALDL, and that was successful although I believe it is only at 160 baud. Before with TunerPro, it was 8192 baud, as I was getting samples much faster.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the cable drivers, tried every USB port on my laptop, made sure I was on COM3 each time using Device Manager (windows 7) and made sure I had the resistor on 10k.

Any ideas before I start ripping my hair out?

Thanks!

You might want to try the Tunerpro forum, it seems to me I remember something about Windows 7 & TP v5.............I use v4 and XP with an ALDL cable and have never had an issue.

Just for giggles, have you tried DM?

Could stop by and try my cable/computer see if there is a prob with ALDL wiring. Or perhaps your cable. I should be around Friday, hoping to test drive some new mods with the decent weather.

Just had another thought, make sure there are no blown fuses. If the ALDL is on the cig lighter fuse it can be easy to blow it.

I would but first I need to make some changes to the tune.

Wouldn't it not stream data at all if the fuse was blown? It worked through WinAldl. I will check fuses anyways.

Thanks for the help, keep the suggestions coming!

Ack I should read better. Well everything I sent is V5 stuff, maybe that messed something up. If it were mine I would delete Tunerpro and start over with a new install. Don't use the V5 stuff with V4. Could possibly just be an issue of using the V5 data stream with V4.

I checked all fuses and they are all OK.

Now when I try to start the car, it gets backfires through the exhaust. This is making me think its a ECM issue...also noted that my battery may be slowly dying, I only have 11.2v while not cranking, key on.

I am going to uninstall/reinstall TunerPro RT V4 and see where that gets me.
