The PO put flowmaster 40 on my car, straight from the cats, just two straight pipes, no resonator, or crossover. I now have a stock resonator which I will install but I still want the flowmaster 40s gone. I am thinking of the dynomax VT, they have an internal valve which in theory should cut down on the droning without cutting the good throttle sound.
Has anyone here used them?
I have not used them but my concern would be the spring on the valve coming off or something becoming loose and rattling over time.
If you went that route I would do it w/o the stock resonator and see if it is quiet enough.
The stock resonator is quite restrictive.
The theory is great and sounds wonderfull on the C6 vette.
I 2nd that about the Flapper valve and spring rusting breaking and rattling.
I just cut Off my Magnaflows and waiting for my 2 chamber mufflers to show up.

The Magnaflows are to Quite for my taste You more or less dont not have much noise at HWY speeds but around town between 35 and 45 MPH they have a Drone to them.
I took a look at the FM 50"s they say those have litttle drone I wanted it to be Loud at Idel and when your foot in it.
My Vett Is my Toy not my DD it was for a couple Months for a while use as a DD I think if I had to use it as a DD all they time I either keeped the MF or went with the FM 50"s.
I have them on my 91. Went from my long tubes to a center muffler with a built in crossover back to the rear to the VT's and it is as quiet as stock, no resonance. When you get on it though it sounds great. I had the same set up with magnaflows at the rear and the resonance was bad so I changed to the VT's
I've had them on for about 6 months with no problems, but then again it's not a daily driver.
