1984 trans problem
hey there i have a 1984 vette that is giving me a problem when driving it shifts hard to 2 and then it shifts to 3rd at high rpms when in 3rd if i hit the gas to hard it feels like it is in neutrol i put a new vss on it and it helped a little but not much i have all gears it drives good but when i get on it in 3rd and when its in 3rd it feels sluggish like its having a hard time running when it goes to 4th its fine any ideas whats going on with it all the trans shops say its not in the trans but a senser or something like that

I AGREE WITH PETEK MY 84 HAS A 700R4. NOT A 4L60E. A 700R4 TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE IS A NON ELEC.TRANS,UNLIKE THE 4L60E WERE AS THE E STANDS FOR ELEC. I THINK YOU NEED TO FIND A COMPETENT TRANY SHOP GOOD LUCK

I don't have a clue as to what you guys are talking about. I have many of his posts, and he stated more than a couple of times he is the resident c4 auto transmission guru. He is very helpful, and I am sure will offer alot of assistance.

trans issues
hello i have a transmission shop in wva i do alot of 700s mostly 4l60es now but any ways first check your tv cable adjustment that is very important in a 700 look at the condition of the fluid those are cheap and free but usually what your describing is u have clutch material coming off and hanging the tv valve in the valve body wich means it needs rebuilt or replaced if u got any question u can call me 1304 203 0183 josh price is my name my shop info is also on facebook pricesgarage
