Default Emissions connections 89' Vert.

Please let me know if the circled green items are suppose to look like they do, and if not what needs to be fixed? Emissions isn't required for the vehicle as it is registered out of county. Please let me know if I can remove the canister or round black ball thing in the same compartment area.

Is there a piece of hose that should be connecting these two pieces as one?

Thank you in advance for any help.

No, you cannot remove either of those unless you want the entire vac a/c defront/heat system, cruise control, and other vac operated systems to fail. The "can" keeps you from a possible gas-vapor fire and eng oil contamination from gas fumes. Its there for a reason.

Get a FSM to see how to plumb the vac line properly.

Thanks for the info regarding the canister.

As far as a FSM goes...I am hoping that somebody knowledgeable on here would perhaps be able to recognize this and help thereby saving me a $75 manual....

Other than saving a few pounds, you have nothing to gain, removing that stuff. Its not eating horsepower.
