Theft deterrent door lock switch

Theft deterrent door lock switch
My door key stuck in the unlock position. Drove it and parked it but when I tried to start it the battery was dead because the interior lights stayed on. Removed handle and took it to locksmith where he told me the problem is the dust cover in the cylinder had popped up. He fixed that and now the key works great. The problem is the interior lights still stay on. If I unplug the theft deterrent door lock switch the lights go off but the alarm goes on when I unlock the door. Any ideas?
One other thing. When I pulled the courtesy light fuse so my battery wouldn't be drained the lights all went out but three days later when I tried to start it, after I got the fixed door lock cylinder in, the battery was dead.

You always need to put in what year car it is. There are differences over the 12 year span of the C4. Also good to fill out your profile when you get a chance.
Check the door switch plungers for proper adjustment. Pull out the inner shaft and then close the door. It is self adjusting. And check to see if the lights go off if you hold the plunger in with your finger (there may be a 30 second delay).
Make sure all is connected properly first before trying this.
Are there any wires that you could have broken in the area you were working?
