Just wondering if anyone has any info. on this or a similar type of product. They claim it coats the cylinder walls and restores compression for high mileage engines. I have 130,000+ on my 88, and was wondering if it would be worth it to try some with my next oil change. The car has always run Mobil 1 (at least that is what the prev. owner told me). I cant complain about performance, maybe a little rough at idle, but no smoke, never stalls and plenty of get up and go... Can this stuff do any damage? If I start using it, will I have to keep using it forever?
Re: Restore engine lubricant, any comments? (mt_789)
I used it in a 1985 Honda 125 4-wheeler. I believe it made a difference. It smokes less and goes faster. The compression is more just by pulling the rope starter it takes more effort. I put it in my 95 chevy pickup and the oil pressure reads over 40 lbs. at highway speeds.

It sounds like you are convinced. Do all of us a favor. Measure and record each cylinder compression before you install the wonder glop. Then after you have run the magic goo for a week, run a compression test and post the results.

If the oil has been changed on a regular basis and its not smoking - DO NOT USE THIS CRAP, or any of the other snake oils! Continue to change the oil and filter at regular intervals and you will get many many many more miles out of that engine before it needs a rebuild.
I used it once to try and get a car through "visible smoke" inspection. It didn't work, so we had to rebuild the engine to get it to pass.
