Help i need a wire identified

Default Help i need a wire identified
Well i put the engine back together and i have a random wire left over,pics soon.
The wire is tan with brown connector on both ends and has what seems to be a resistor on a bracket in line the resistance was 15.56 on the 20k setting and is a metal body with black end caps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also ped 8 on one connecter.

On a '66 Ford Galaxy 500 I'd say that was the tach wire.

Sounds like the tach wire and filter. You can see the filter resting on wiper motor. It plugs into dist cap and connector from harness.

That's the wire agent 86 thanks for the help. Was wondering why the tach connector got so short.
