a month later my brother wrecked his 95 and ended up in a coma for 3 months... and his life almost ended. He is 100% disabled now. He still uses the forum from time to time (americasfuture2k)
hope you learned a valuable lesson. Dont take your life for granted. Good luck on your recovery... it will take some time.
Live to drive another day.... I put a sending unit in my 96 not long ago ,the old rubber lines were looking old 15 years old.. anybody ever put stanless lines or Russel lines or something better in a C-4???? Being upside down is one thing on fire ..NOT.... Good luck to you..Be thinking Mini Van....
Gee what a string of bad luck you've had. Didn't you break you leg on 11/17? So you were driving you're vette with your leg in a cast from falling through the stairs?
I think you have me confused with another member, I remember that thread too. Before my wreck I was in good health and inshape.
Sorry to hear about all the fractures...Vettes are (IMHO) unforgiving...I wrecked my 66 Stingray one cold wet November night on an overpass...Spun and went into the Armco backwards; bounced across the Thruway into the Armco on the other side frontwards...No injury, but car needed a lot of repair...Sold it when the repairs were done (1974)...
Same exact thing happened to me on a car cruise. *** end came out and i overcorrected sending me up a hill and into a guardrail. Corvettes are very unforgviving
For how bad that looks, I'd say you're lucky to be alive. Glad to hear you'll be alright though
Wow.....sorry to hear about your misfortune. I don't even think that Zaino would buff that out. As mentioned before, a car is replaceable and you mostly are not. Thank God for adrenaline or that would have hurt a lot more at the time. How are the femurs? Are you in a big ole' cast or anything? Just keep taking your pain meds and looking for a replacement. Don't be tempted to get a C5 because we all know that C4's are best.
Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery. ---Gunny---

Both femur's have titanium rods in them. I haven't been on pain meds since November 15th (been tracking what and how much of my meds i'm taking) I am feeling no pain at all anymore, no casts, was in a brace on my right leg due to the tibial fracture, but that came off the 12th of November. The nurse's at hospital were telling me how surprised they were at how little pain meds I was on when in hospital. I was given a shot of morphine once in the ambulance waiting on chopper to find a place to land, I told them I wasn't feeling any pain yet. I have kept my spirits up through this whole ordeal, started to get a little down about the car at first, but then told myself to get over it, and that I'll get that '96 LT4 I've always wanted. One thing I noticed was it's amazing how attached one can be to a car.

Sounds like your going to make it... Good can sometimes come from bad stuff just posted a tread on stanless gas lines on my two C-4s ..15 year old rubber lines can't be a good thing ..Being upside down is one thing on fire is another ..All these old C-4s have rubber lines the newest is 15 years old time to put some stanless fex or something in there place.. I guess I'll get out the thinking cap and come up with something..After 15 or more years old just split and fire... we can do better that that..Good luck...
Im glad you are ok. Your adrenaline saved your life and you will be back on your feet and driving a Vette soon.
The picture brings me some bad bad memories. I had a picture of my 92 Vert but, I had to delete it, it was
eating me inside. Unfortunately, my ex-wife was able to get out of the Vette before she lit it on fire. I can
only hope for her to feel what she felt on her last day.

that car had relatively new fuels lines (2 years). The problem came when I slid into some tree's the first impact was where the door and hood meet at the base of windshield. The impact was right where the fuel filter would be. I think my fire was from the impact breaking a line, not deteriorating lines.

Glad you made it out of that wreck. I have a good idea how it feels. Some years back, the light had changed to green for me to cross USrt 13. I was half way across when a lady blew through the light at over 50mph & T-boned my `81 Vette. Bent the car in half. I got hit in the head with one of the T tops. Knocked me out for over an hour, but lucky for me I believe in seatbelts. Came out of it with 15 stitches in my scalp.

If it weren't for the seatbelt (I also believe in seatbelts, never drive or ride without) I would have been thrown from car I think.
