GM transmissions of all models were used in several types of vehicles. I would assume that the guts of the transmission are the same, minus any corvette specific parts like the the shift servo. I know for a fact the output shaft housing has to be replaced with a corvette specific housing and splined outpout shaft. If there is no damage to your current output shaft then you would need to swap it and the housing. The housing needs to be the proper length and have the mounting point for the connector fo the rear end.
If your looking for a cheap replacement, it should work. You'd be better off rebuilding your current transmission. It'll be new and come with a warranty. Transmission is a lot of work to replace if it goes out before the next oil change.
Corvette A4's allow for the OD to engage at WOT. Other GM autos do not. As mentioned, the tailshaft is specific because of the C-beam.
Unless your trans is beyond repair, I would recommend rebuilding it (not a swap at a trans shop) or buy a remanufactured one. Look at Jasper trannies; they come with a 3-year 100K miles warranty. Jasper doesn't sell directly to consumers so you have to find a shop to do the work. Having a shop do the R&R insures that the warranty will be in force as the requirements of the warranty typically require things like a new torque converter and the correct ATF fluid.
You also get the work done in one day. Make an appointment, the shop orders the new trans, bring the car in when the trans arrives and the work is done.
the corvette unit has a shorter tail shaft and a better calibrated valve body plus they had diffrent soleniod restanses in diffrent years of 4l60s the 4l60 e came out in 93 in trucks 94 in passenger cars if u go the used route it has to be from a 94 vette 95-96 willl bolt up but not work properly
