Hi Guys - my remote for the PKE system on my car has a broken key loop on it, other than that it works fine. I bought another one from a seller on eBay and got it yesterday. The new one has screws on the backside to hold it together while mine seems to snap together - are these the same remote? They look identical from the front...
I got mine off of e-bay several years ago and it has 2 screws holding it together.
Mines getting pretty old and I'm thinking about replacing it. do you mind if I ask what you paid for yours?
Thanks
Mike
This seems to be a good time to post my thread on how I fixed my key loop. The loops seem to be the weak spot on all FOBs and I just needed to do something and not pitch it, but to make it better than new. It has worked great for years, no problems.
I have seen the ones with the screws and they are fine, maybe better than the snap together. you may have bought a new one but this may help you or some others in the future.
Years ago when I had my 95, I had done research and had even contacted the original manufacturer of those fobs to see if it was possible to just buy a new housing since the innards typically last forever. That was a dead end and I had suggested that some enterprising creative forum member could make a nice little side business by offering replacement housings--I guess that is still the case (pardon the pun).
