Is it 10psi with an intercooler? If your getting 10 psi (non-intercooled) at the manifold with other mods it is a time bomb on stock pistons.

stock bottom wont be able to handle that charger with all that stuff already on it.

I'm new to the forum too, but what I've learned from other posts is that the stock cast pistons won't even last long even running 8 psi.

I'm looking into getting an ATI intercooled procharger for my stock LT-1 and even with intercooling I'm still only going to run 6psi 7 tops!!! i want my engine to last a good while.

tick tock, tick tock. Don't even try it. Even intercooled w/lowered compression I wouldn't try it unless you're eventually planning to rebuild anyway.

everything except the boost would be a great stock bottom end combo. with 10psi a bowtie block would be smart, high end crank and rods and a good dished piston like JE, ross, wiseco would also be bright if you want any kind of milage.

Your stock bottom end are fine. Most of you guys are forgotten Shalin Ex-93LT1 running stock bottom end made 555rwhp ran mid 10s in 1/4 mile, The setup were 355ci w/forged piston and 12psi intercooled.

A stock bottom end doesn't have forged pistons.

I would be scared to touch the accelerator pedal with that setup.

Shalin did not have a stock bottom end. it was a purpose built, forged bottom, 355 with 8.5:1CR.

With the power you gain you face will do this :D . You friends will look at your car like this  you will think its  but your engine is actually playing with dynomite using this :smash: . Then sadly you will be doing this :cry because your engine is :boxing a losing battle. So we have to put it to rest "rip" :nopity . Finally, you will be :U From all the money you wasted :D

I have met and talked to Shalin many ocassion. Shalin Ex-93 vette using stock crank and rods. The only thing was forged is the TRW 21cc "D" cup piston and TS1 rings. Also its a 9:1 c/r. If you guy wants more infor, you can contact Chris at Speed-Demon. Because he own Shalin blown vette now.

With the proper quality fuel, fuel supply and correct tuning you can get by. I just would not run it hard on hot days. Most problems are user related not component.

The forced induction guys always say to dump the factory pistons if you want to use boost of any kind.
