Greetings Guys,
Glassman89 here. I am new to the forum but I have been around Corvettes for a few years. I have a 1989 coupe (L-98, ZF-6, Z52, FX3). Sitting on the garage floor is a complete SuperRam setup. My question is. Which is the best cam to use with the SuperRam intake? The Vette is a toy, autocross car and weekend road trip car. The long block is stock. I have deleted the cats and air pump. Let me hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Since you haven't done any head modifications you'll want to stay fairly mild...Overcamming the stock heads is fairly easy. The SuperRam is also pretty critical on cam timing, if you try to cram too much duration in it you'll be very disappointed. Since it is a long "tuned" runner manifold duration specs have to be kept in check. With a stock type application such as yours I would suggest something mild like the LPE 211 cam or something along the lines of one of Crane's or Comp's "Computer" grinds (one of their smaller ones). The TPIS "Super Profile" cam would also be a good choice.

The 74219 Camshaft was designed for for the SuperRam by Lingenfelter. Can't really go wrong there. That is what I am using in my car. (Don't ask for #s or times yet, she's still being pieced togeter. :))
your heads will either need to be fully ported or you will need new ones from AFR, D Ports that you have are pretty good though. Since you have a stick, id even think about going more aggressive than the 74219, but if you dont want it too aggressive then the 219 will still make tons of power anyway.
If you are not going to do a head change just run the LPE 211 cam. It will work fine with the stockers with a spring change. You will have to change the springs no matter what cam you choose. The stock springs are even a poor choice for the stock cam.
Thanks for all the info guys. Yes, I am aware of the head issues. The car has 90K on it. I figured I would at a minimum change springs and rockers. Looks like I'll be byting the "porting" bullet too. I like the idea of keeping the original heads. At this point. I'm thinking cam+lifters+pushrods+springs+rockers+por ting. Is it Crane that makes the 1.66 rockers that fit under the stock valve covers? I would like to get everything from the same manufacturer. BTW the rear gear is 3:54
Alright Vic.......glad to see you decided to join the forum! If the C4 section is as helpful as the C3 section (I'm sure it is)....you won't be disappointed.
