Mercedes slk 230 ?
Does anyone know anything about these cars, like what times they run and their power ratings. I'm asking this because the other day I street raced one and be the time we hit 60 I already had a car lenght on him. Then after slowing down we started at about 40 and by eighty he was about 4 car lenghts behind. I have never had my car at the track but I just wanted t get an idea on what my car can do.

An AMG model can hold up with an L98 but none of the others should be able to take one, foreign cars are just too heavy.

I agree with you that an L98 will beat a SLK 230, but are you saying that all foreign cars are too heavy?:rolleyes:

My wife has a C-Coupe 230 Kompress (4 banner w/supercharger) that I think is rated around 196HP - seems MUCH slower than that for being such a little car. My option - the car sucks! I'm just not saying that because I like american cars (OK, maybe I am) but after having the car for only 3 days, the clutch went out. Did I mention this was a brand new 2002? Now, new clutch is in but it will jump out of 3 from time to time, I still smell the clutch burning about once a week, the check engine like has come on three times for three different reason (two times they didn't even know what the codes where and sent them off to Germany - still don't know what they meant - but they fixed the problem???????) and the low oil indiciator started coming on for about a two weeks before we put the car into the shop - didn't need oil (Mobil 1) but they fixed that problem too???
Needless to day, after having the car for 7 months and 14k miles later - we are trying to return it to the dealer or will file for Lemon Law protection.
Can you believe the wife still wants a Benz after all this??!! At least she loves the Vette!

I think this just a regular slk230 The only reason I raced him was because he cut me off. I didn't think it was that fast even thou the owner said it had 300 hp with a 0-60 in 5.1 I think he got this car mixed with another model
