Another (yawn) 385 build

BUT Im here a lot wasnt sure if you guys would mind or not
No reason couldnt build something like this for a C4.
385 ci
11.5:1
Isky solid roller
260/268@.050
294/302 adv
.640 lift
108 lsa
Crower Severe Duty lifters
Restrictors to top end
230 cfm alum head (300+-/232 cfm)
Jesel 1.6
Manley pushrods & Manley 6" Pro Race rods
4340 Chinese crank
Fully Ported Team G (single plane)
750 DP
1-3/4 headers
Funny part is
-Runs on 91 just fine
-Operates power brakes great (use a vac reservoir same with the smaller Comp I had in the last one)
-Doesnt load plugs up
-Minor cam surge way down low which it should who lugs something like this anyway.
See how long this one lasts
Last one was plagued with issues due to a "look alike" set of pushrods and after 60 mi had beaten the valvetrain into submission.
Just a street motor good for hunting some Shelbys and Z06s

Could use a better intake but it is what it is.

Cheap gets you crap every single time.
"Budget build".....good luck with that one
They were bought many many yrs ago when the prior motor was planned to have a flat tappet in it.
never occurred to me after deciding on a solid roller what I had wouldnt have been good enough.
Youth/ignorance lol.
Variable valve timing to another extent
Valve stem tips and valve job were hammered bad in 60 mi. Fortunatley the lifters were still mint

I remember looking into these way back, but since it was for roller rockers...I decided I wanted to keep my roller bearings in the rocker rather than in the valve.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

C.A.T. different company.
Some stuff is questionable but some parts like their rods crank Hi Flow water pumps arent bad at all, had a CAT crank in the 350, set of their rods in a friends motor built many yrs ago no issues.
I bought a C.A.T. Hi flow water pump as a joke....it was $60 but works great cant complain.
Dont buy that stuff nowadays but have no issue with Chinese cranks unless theres a large stroke/extreme rpm involved. Long as they are checked out well like anything else. Dont see an issue for a 3.75 stroke
Are going to take it down the strip? I agree on driving/hauling the mail vids.

Take it to the track? Why wouldnt you want to just dyno it, and bench race it?
