84 ignition help needed ASAP
Converting my 84 vette to a Haltech E6H.
Question is what signal output is derived from the purple signal wire leading to the stock ECU?
Needs to be 5 volts minimum and true squarewave.
Have failed getting a steady reading so far.

My 87 schematic shows a purple/wh wire from the distributor to the ECM and it is the distributor reference pulse. I haven't looked at this pulse on my oscilloscope, but it could be too short duration for your add on. You might try the white wire out of the distributor which is the tach output.

If any,the purple wire would be the one.
System is not an add on,but a stand alone programmable EFI.
