Default 93 Ruby = new gears

I'm finally going to bite the bullet and change out the 2:59's for 3:73's on my auto Ruby. I've have two quotes on price so far. The cheapest place says around $1000 for parts and $300 for labor. They could get it done in a day or so.

Is this about right on price? I'm sure somebody will say they had it done cheaper,
but I don't want to look high and low for the cheapest price. I just want reasonable. The shop I talked to does lots of performance work and I think they would do a good job.

Yes, Make sure that the gers in the back of the tranny are done right for your speedometer. Also, you have to put shift point weights (a kit) for you to adjust shift points as our 93's are not electronic tranny's as we have a TV cable. Steve

Last month I did the same switch on my 93'. I went with the GP (which is a complete rearend with new posi-unit) from ZIP Products for $759.00 plus my rearend as a core. I think it was advertised as a 3:54 setup but I had them use 3:73 instead. I also purchased the heavy duty rearend cover for an additional $325.00. This was an easy swap and I think the best way to go. You should call and speak with Justin if you have any questions about their set-ups.

You will be very happy with the results. It will seem like a completely different car.

Good Luck :) :)

Mine was $900 and included new bearings. The Spedo was done seperately, if your price includes this as well all is cool. You will love this mod.. :yesnod:
