Default LT1 Spark Plug Wire Questions

I have bought a new belt, tensioner, plugs, wired and fuel filter as my winter tune up project.

So when the box came for the parts I ordered I found that the plug wires were in an original AC Delco box, part number 628D. The plug wires are red and say Corvette LT5 in white with extra long connectors for the plugs around the headers.

I also got rapidfire platinum AC Delco plugs...part number AC8.

Will this fit a 93 LT1?

The part distributor and the guy I called at customer service all say it will fit, but I think the plugs are for an LT1. I went to all my local stores and they all had to order the parts them from their warehouse so I just went home and bought it all online with free shipping and 2 day delivery!

Plus i dont want to get neck deep in the tune up and find out I need to stop b/c the plug wires are for an LT5

Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone know the OE stock part numbers for the plugs and wires in case I need to return and exchange them??

LT5s used an Opti too, right? So the plug wires would be the same length. If they Ohm test about the same (if that even matters, considering how little the wires affect voltage), they'll be functionally identical.

Except they have long boots to fit the plugs in the rocker covers

Oh wow you're right, the wires are routed totally differently than on my LT4; overtop of the engine. Didn't know they moved the spark plugs around like that. Nevermind, these wires would probably be an awkward fit depending on their lengths and the lengths of those boots.

NO, they did not have an Opti on the LT5

The LT5 used a distributorless ignition with 4 coils (2 plugs per coil) and a crankshaft sensor.

Hmmm, I didn't think the LT5 OEM plug wires were still available.

That's what I had thought too, at least for the wires with the printing. I wouldn't return those wires. Buy the correct set and offer the LT5 wires for sale in the ZR-1 section.

thanks for the replies guys...I got the wires from autopartswarehouse.com

The wires were about $80 so i doubt they are the $250-400 OEM wires for a ZR1, but they do have Corvette LT5 and the plug # on the wires. I wish I could post a pic.

The wires also came in a AC Delco box from the early 90's as it was nice and weathered.

I might snoop aroun the ZR1 forum and do some research.

get a set of good cut your own.... most lt sets are too short... the extra lenth lets you run the wires away from heat.. there a peice of cake to cut and install....

Default ZR1 sparkplug wires

ACDelco catalog shows 628D wires are for ZR1. Autopartswarehouse has them listed as being for LT1 and lists none for ZR1. $75 shipped is probably a good deal if they're so rare.
