At idle or standing still, my engine & whole car kinda shakes or lobes as if it had a big cam. I've checked & adjusted the timing, a full tune-up has been done including replacing the disributor, ignition coil, plugs, & wires. The engine seems to run fine except for the shaking. Any ideas of what I can check or change.
Are you sure all cylinders are firing? How did the old plugs look when you removed them?
How do the engine mounts look?
I checked the new plugs after running them a while and they all looked as though they had been firing, none were wet. I am going to have to check the engine mounts tomorrow. Strange thing though, even if I remove the plug wire from any of the cylinders, I really can't tell if it skips.
How can I tell if the harmonic balancer is bad?
I did question if it could have gone bad due to me turning the engine with the mounting bolt when I was setting the valves.
