I have a '94 LT-1. Every morning while driving to work between mile 8 and 9, the car dies. No spark. Wait 5 mins and it will fire right up and I can drive it the rest of the 35 miles to work and back with no problems. It has a new distributor, coil, and ignition control module. The security light does not come on when you try to start it right after it dies, so it should not be the VATS system. This is driving me crazy!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Car ran at idle for over 20 mins this morning witt no problems. Water pump is not leaking. Coil wire connections seem fine albeit it is original wire. Where is the 5 block ground located? I also have never changed the fuel filter. I have owned the car for over 6 years.

Look under passenger door along the frame rail....follow the lines to the cover thats hiding the CAN type filter. BTW...its messy, be prepared.
What I am getting is no spark, I will ck the starter connections tomm. Is there any relay that affects the ignition?
Not that I'm aware of. I'd suspect the ignition control module, the typical symptom is ok cold then dies hot, if let sit, ok again. Seems to be rash of them as of late. I think I got one too...further testing is needed however. I can tell you what is NOT wrong with my car...
Try spraying down the ignition components with water while running hot and see if any arching occurs. FYI, NOT on the OPTI.
I live in Gibson County, TN. There are no car pool lanes here. Got to go to Memphis for those. We do have BBQ joints to make yo belly full. We also have the cabin of the last home of Davy Crockett. Skullbone TN is also one unique place. Come visit, stay, eat and enjoy!!!
