Dana 44, 4+3 tranny, and..
Ok i have the chance to buy a parts car to sup my 86 automatic vert. My vette has some pretty bad damage to the driver door, stress cracks and damage in multiple places on the hood from the PO shutting it on some tools, Headlights stuck, other small stuff.
The donor is asking 1200 for an 86 4+3 coup with 100K on the clock and no motor or title, looks like it was driven pretty hard. Im wondering what its worth and what i should offer. I want the dana 44 in my vert but dont know the ratio. Id like to swap the drivers doors, can you swap a coup door onto a vert?
He has:
2 rear hubs new
orig 4+3 (on the ground already)
breather box new
some new interior parts, kick panels,Pass visor new etc
orig rims w good tires
rear and door glass is good as is hood and bumpers/ body panels
busted targa
I can strip the parts off the car and store them to sell them on fleabay or on here. Im in sc FYI. Hes pretty hard up for the money, but so am i. WHats all this worth and what should i offer? And can i swap doors?

Does the D44 work?
If it was in an accident check for spider cracks on the differential batwing and snout of the diff.
1,200 for a working diff + c-beam + DS + ds door is a pretty good deal. I don't know what else will be worth anything on there so add in the cost to take it to the salvage yard.
