Default wheel spacers

I am running C5 wagon wheels on my C4 and the offset seems to locate the wheels slightly more under the car than I would like, I am thinking about trying a set of wheel spacers, something between 1/2 inch and 1 inch. Where could I find a set, and are there any negatives?

By looking at ebay and dougs site it seems that if i go with 3/8 inch i just use my stock studs and lugnuts but if i go with 1 inch i bolt the spacers to my hub and the spacers have their own studs. Do the stock ones have enough thread length to be safe to run the 3/8 spacers. Or even two 1/4 inch spacers?

They should have enough thread. If not, AROUND makes a good set of studs a bit longer. Just installed a set in my car. Reasonable price too. I wouldn't recommend running 2 spacers at all. Just doesn't seem safe. If you need 1/2", buy a 1/2" spacer.

lesse, the difference between 3/8" and 1/2" is 1/8" which isnt very much. and 2 1/4" spacers is 1/2". What am I missing? you want to run 2 1/4" spacers or one 3/8" both being so close to 1/2" that you wont notice the difference on your car

Negatives, may go through wheel bearings faster. That would be more for racing use though. They are safe and I usually use Summit for parts. Hub centric doesn't really matter as these are lug centric. I put some part numbers and pix in a thread I made:

Even if there were enough threads (there shouldn't be) I wouldn't go with 1/2" spacers on the stock studs. That would put a tremendous amount of stress on the studs and you would risk snapping them off during cornering or launch which could be catastraphic. I would go with 1" bolt on spacers. There wouldn't be any additional stress on the hubs or bearings because the center of the wheel and tire combo would be back to the stock location under the hub.

those ones from ez do look nice. That is probably how I will go!! the only question I have is if I go with 1 inch are the wheels going to stick out too much? From another post it apprears that the difference in offset from my wheels to the stock ones is 17 mm, so if I go with 1 inch spacers i will be 6mm further out, which is not much. Anyone run this route?
