Temp fix for power steering lines?

Temp fix for power steering lines?
How much PSI do these things hold back? I gouged one of mine up pulling the balancer. I have a new one on order. Should I be worried about it blowing? Anything I can do to try and prevent it? I suppose if it does go three things will happen...
1. Fluid everywhere.
2. Hard steering.
3. The pump will burn out.

dont know if this will help, but when mine was leaking the mechanic told me the best thing to do is to keep fluid with you, and keep it full, and never to turn it all the way to one side because the more you turn it towards lock, the greater pressure will be.

Temporary fix...if its the rubber part is to cut the hose in half. slide a piece of copper tubing in and clamp it off. (rough up the tubing so its not smooth with sandpaper)
