Default Part numbers?

Does anybody know the part numbers for the EGR pipe (the metal one that goes from the exhaust manifold to the engine) and the cover and gaskets that go with it? I have it off while doing the EM repair and figured I may as well swap it out.

Thanks.

You're in luck, I just happen to have the recent invoice handy. The GM P/N is 10055728, Pipe Asm, 3.675, List $68.25, Net $55.00.

I believe the intake base & headers are the same for '88 and '89 so would think the EGR tube would also be.

No, but the pipe of course came with a new Al heat shield cover.

You will need (2); they are GM P/N 10055726, Gasket, 3.675, List $3.54, Net $7.08.

I also picked up a new EGR Switch, GM P/N 14087415, Switch, 3.670, List $10.50, Net $10.50.

On my '88 the EGR Switch connector was burried behind the dist., which I finally located after I had pulled the intake base & dist. On Vic'89's '89 that connector had been routed up to the right of the dist. for easy access, however Vic may have moved it. If burried, it's a real PITA to access.

I finally cut the wire and spliced in a section of Grn wire to bring that connector up to a convenient location. If yours is also burried, to ease removing that EGR Switch you could just cut that Grn wire, install the switch into the new EGR tube and then solder it up and cover with some heat shrink tubing.

Thanks for all the info 65Z01, that really helps.

I actually just replaced the EGR switch about 2 weeks ago. I kept getting a code 32 consistently every single morning after driving between 8-10 miles, so I checked out the switch and the way it was routed it was pressed against the IM and the connector was all melted, the actual sensor in the switch was pretty loose and corroded also. I re-routed the new one so that won't happen again (hopefully anyway). I also replaced the EGR solenoid (just because it looked pretty old). Anyway, no more code 32 :)
