New problem - starter runs
I tried to start the car (to take it to the dealer for third time on same body repair) and the starter (?) has gone crazy. It spins continuously even after motor starts. Only way to stop it was dis-connect battery. And as soon as the batt is connected it spins again. Seriously stuck somehow. Any ideas what to check? Bad ignition switch (but motor started), solenoid or starter or???? Help appreciated! :confused:

Check the Starter Enable Relay, behind the IP Center.
Pull the shifter into gear. If it stops spinning, service the relay; if not service the starter.

Follow the flow. Battery, Ignition Switch, Start Enable Relay, Clutch Switch (on your 4+3) then Starter Solenoid. If it were the Start Enable Relay stuck, the Ignition Switch would also have to be bad as the relay on gets current when in the START position. By your description it sounds as though all was well until you started, then the Starter would not stop. It would stand to reason that the Solenoid engaged the Starter and either the return spring broke or there is a wiring problem in the Starter. I once had the studs where the Battery and the Ignition connect come loose. If the B terminal touches the S terminal, your Starter's gonna run. I think you need to be looking at the Starter/Solenoid.
