I used suction the suction cups that came with my small Cobra and mounted it to the left of the mirror. I ran the cord oround the mirror down to the lighter. I plan on splicing into the mirror wire. Someone on the forum did it and said it was easy, I just haven't done it yet.
Anybody see the Valentine One unit with the remote display? I saw a website with someone who put it in their rear view mirror (underneath the glass) so you could still use your review and see the display as well!
But , who wants to spend $500 on a radar detector? It's cheaper driving the speed limit.
Re: suggestions for radar detect. mounting (Janaelen)
I have the Valentine One with the Remote display... I have it mounted behind and to the right of the rearview mirrow, just enough so the rear facing antenna is unobstructed, with the wiring hidden in the upper windshield molding and the remote display above the headlight switch on the dash... I Love it and highly recommend it!!! It's the best detector I've ever owned... (For those of us who do 'occasionally' uh... 'accidently'... exceed the posted ' suggested ' speed limits)

I too have my Cobra mounted above and to the left of the rearview; it's wired into the non-dimable mirror light (the one that you manually turn On/Off).
It's a very stealth location/mount and can not be seen from the outside even with the targa off. It comes On/Off with the ignition so there's no additional battery drain and it needs no attention. For about $65 and a little wiring it can't be beaten.
