throttle linkage question

throttle linkage question
could someone tell me what braided cable that attaches to the top of the throttle linkage is? It has a black plastic slide clip on it and runs back behind the engine. It's on an 85. My car is starting but seems to be flooded and this cable was broken.

That is the TV cable which controls line pressure in the A4 at part throttle.
It's a good idea to have that cable replaced before driving the car much more to avoid tranny problems.

Is replacing the tv cable very difficult to replace for a non mechanic? Also any ideas as to why the engine is flooded. It just started all the sudden.

I have no clue on the flodding, check for stored codes; possibly a leaking injector.
The TV cable ties into a plunger inside the tranny; I believe it requires a trip to a reliable shop as it must be done properly.
