Ok, I have a 96 vette, How or what would I go about buying/doing to convert the headlights into a brighter ( like piaa or one of those hid ) lights? I think I need a new casing and everything rite? where do I find em?
I saw the Halogen update kit in the Midamerica catalog. It came with plastic leses and your choice of white or blue bulbs. I think it was pretty reasonable too. I wanted to get it but needed other important things and just forgot about it.
These are the best solution, in my opinion, for serious improvements in lighting; unlike other HID kits these are housings that are made to accept HID capsules and as such have the correct optics to control the intense light. I had a ricer in a Civic behind me the other night with an HID conversion done to his halogen light housing and the glare was horrible; he is going to be totally blind in the rain or fog.

Re: Headlight Conversion
Check out http://www.autooptiks.com/ They have great deals on lighting upgrade kits. I've used them for my 95 Firebird and for the Vette and had great results. There standard kit for C4s is $50 for the pair and includes the housings and bulbs. These are NOT HID, and I really doubt you want to spend the money to do a true HID system. But, I think they are a HUGE improvement over stock.
I got the Hella Housing from Summit for $80, then the Plasma Xenon Bulbs off Ebay for $10. Make sure to get the 90/110watters. That should do the trick! ;)
