Default '89 exhaust suggestions

My pipes in my exhaust system are completely shot... I'm looking to get a true dual exhaust system such as these from CCE and PYPES

CCE Dual Exhaust
PYPES Dual Exhaust

I was wondering if any of yall have any opinions on these... I basically want the sound reduced in the cabin but still a good muscly sound. the $469 for the CCE system seems like a great deal, but if i could find a set of decent mufflers for <$200 (since just the pipes are 259)

If you want your car to sound like an old tractor that's a great idea. It's also $800+ for a Corsa system.

In all honestly Corsa has it's benefits, it looks pretty and it's all stainless, and it doesn't resonate inside the car. That's all well and good but in MY opinion they sound like complete and utter crap and the "dummy" tip is a joke in my book. But with that said, that's the best part about the exhaust, there is no right or wrong answer. What sounds good to one person may not sound good to another. We're all different and that's what makes the world interesting.

The best advice I can give you is to listen to as many different systems as you can and figure out what you like. If you are gonna spend big money, you want to be sure that you're gonna like the result.

Both of the systems that you included links too are not designed with catalytic converters.
I do not know how hard they are in your state, in Massachusetts they visually look for them and if they are not there the car will not pass inspection. Just something to keep in mind.
I agree that if you want a quality system you should consider a Corsa Catback.
It is not the cheapest around, $925.00 for the system I just purchased for my 1990, but I have been very pleased with the sound and longevity that I have gotten from systems installed on other vehicles. Search this Forum and you will read posts from many of our members that they have a annoying drone at specific speeds and RPMs but this is non-existent with a their exhaust.
Go to the websites that offer systems for a C4 and listen to them. I do not think that you will be disappointed with the Corsa system.

i dont have any inspection issues right now, ill just run straight pipes with mufflers... im not trying to spend a TON of money, $500 is probably the limit...

basically looking for a bang for buck exhaust, would prefer durability/quality over anything else, then sound

Either of those systems will have high cabin noise. If you are OK with that go for it. I would pick the one with Magnaflows.

LOL @ Corsa sounding like a tractor. You must have heard one unhealthy vette.

If you don't wanna spend the $$$ for Corsa or Borla, Muffler Elims are a solid route. They drone a bit, but sound fantastic.
