Yes John,my engine lately shows a little blu smoke puf when fired up,i know this simpthom is related to valve seals worn out,as you suggest, it's time to replace them.Again any issue if i use my NON-self aligning RR,engine is stock only with long tube.
...You do not need guide plates with iron heads, they are needed for aluminum heads. Self aligning RR would be best. You do not need to machine the stock head. You WILL HAVE to take the stock valve covers and grind off the drip tabs on the underside of the covers. Do not attempt to break the tabs off. Cut them with a small cut off wheel and then grind them down with a die grinder.
Just remove the bolt that holds the stamped rocker in place and remove the stamped rocker. Replace with the roller rocker and the new lock nut. Adjust the rocker as you would any rocker arm.
From past Forum posts, members have indicated that you would get 10-15 HP installing RR's. I am sure that number is dependent on what heads you have and the ratio you install.
