Default Heating problem

Ok, so here's the deal. Last weekend I changed out the spark plugs and wires, the air filter, the belt, and a bad injector. After I was done it worked great, until this morning. Now the temp is getting upwards of 212-215 idling without the a/c or anything on, and it wasnt even getting passed 198 idling. Not only that but the heater isn't blowing heat, only cold air but both lines are hot. When I turn the heater off for a lil bit and then back on it works for a few seconds but then stops again. The only thing I did with the cooling system on that tune up was disconnect the hose from the front of the black to make conecting the spark plug wires easier. After that the low coolant light came on bc I had lost some coolant but I refilled it when I was done. Any thoughts?

Looking at previous posts, it looks like you have a 92. It sounds like you need to bleed the air out of the cooling system. There is an air bleed screw on the thermostat housing right below the throttle body. Open it slowly, and with a rag around it to protect the optispark from coolant. It will only take a second or two for the air to come out and have a steady flow of coolant out the bleed screw, then close it back up. Any time you open the cooling system, it is a good idea to bleed it after it is running again. Air in the system will cause the exact problems you are describing.

The picture below is from a Camaro, but basically the same thing.

Ok, I figure the one right next to the block out right before you sent this, I bled it, but it was a steady flow the whole time. Could I have perhaps overfilled it?

Doubt you over filled it. I bet you have a air pocket however. Let the car sit and idle then cool down about 3 times, should get the air out. Take care and monitor coolant levels in expansion tank and don't let it overheat.

First wrap a rag around it so AF doesn't drip down on the opti. Then you have to start and run it until the t/stat opens and then bleed it again.
