I have only used Mobil One non-Synthetic but on the last oil change the dealer used Synthetic Mobil One. The car is an 87 only 43k miles. The car has driven less than 5 miles since the oil change.
I have read other postings and it sounds like if you want to change you need to do it when the milage is low otherwise you will have issues with leaking.

Re: Wrong oil used (Redding)

If it does leak what next.
I changed mine at 122K+ miles to Synthetic, after 3000 miles it doesn't leak anymore than it did with regular oil (one or two drops here and there when cold). If it starts to leak, find the leak and fix it. Most of the time its an easy fix (I need to pull the valve covers and replace the gaskets to fix my leak) or is something that needs to be done anyway (the valve guides and seals from what I've read wear out at high mileage).
And your engine will love it, mine seems to get to the power band quicker :D
I started using Mobil1 at 84k. Doesnt leak a drop. My morning smoking (valve seal problem) has also stopped since the change to M1. Not sure of the 2 are related, but Im glad it stopped. Keep it in there.
