Long story short, I have an OEM throttlebody ported to 52mm that I want to install. I know, theres a lot of naysayers on a larger TB but this deal was too good to pass up.
The TB is bare, meaning I have to transfer over the top plate and IAC housing from my stocker.
I'm trying to source gaskets locally at the chain stores so I can avoid shipping cost/time.
So far I've found:
Fel-Pro 60655 which is the gasket that mates the TB to the intake - and I'm not even sure that it will accodate a 52mm, but I figured worse case is I trim the holes with an exacto knife.
What I can't seem to pin down is the part numbers for the IAC housing gasket and the top plate. Any ideas?
I did notice that the online retailers carry a BBK set that includes most of what I need but thats a last resort if I can't find it local. The dealer isnt really an option either - the hours I work dont permit me to make it there when the parts counter is open.
I have a old T-body GM gasket kit and it has part number 17110845.
This is a kit purchaced in 88? and and I'm sure it fits all the T-bodys from 85 TPIs thru 96LT1s.
I punched it into GM parts direct alternate catalog and its still listed for $10ish bux plus their shipping, gouging and fondling fees.
As you can see on my lift, I'm a sucker for decals!!! and 3rdgen Fbodys... Thats Firehawk #13 of 25 on the left. I can't find my beer fridge pic. Its plastered with decals.
I was doing some searching today and BBK no longer supports the older style TB, their newer version no longer has the top plate so they no longer sell the top gasket.
no problem, i was in need of it a few weeks back and found it. when i saw the thread i figured i would toss in the part # since when they look it up in the store it doesnt show up.
