Ok i have a 96 c4, and i just got a full tune on it got just about everything done but when im at a idle and put the pedal to the floor it will cut out and try and die..but if im driving it and the rpm's are about 1800+ and i put it to the floor it will pick up and go fine any ideas of what this could be? ive been told fuel pump/distributor just thought i would get some other input on it. its driving me crazy

thank you

Sounds more like a bad tune than anything else.

Ok, need to clarify exactly what you mean by "full tune." Do you mean you had somebody tune your computer for mods / performance, or do you mean you just had a "tune up" done, IE plugs and wires, fuel filter, etc. etc.

The Timing on an LT1 is completely computer controlled. If somebody has been jerking around in the computer and they don't know what they are doing, they could mess it up. If they never touched the computer and just did maintenance parts then it's not tuning.

Give us a little bit more information and we'll see where we can go from there.

Should not be a timing issue. Do you know what spark plugs they used? Sometimes that can make way more difference than you think.

The distributor on these is called the "optispark" and it gets blamed for a lot of problems. It has a fancy optical pickup in it but it has a cap and rotor just like any other distributor. Do you know if these were changed?

How many miles are on the car?

What would make you think a 16 year old cap and rotor is still ok?
