Default exhaust system

I'm looking for the best exhaust system for my 95. Currently have the factory system. I'm looking for increased horse power and a good sound.

Long Tube Headers

I had my headers Jet Hot coated for good looks, and lower under hood temperatures.

your system is good for a stock or lightly modded car, and looks good too.

The '92-96 systems are actually pretty good.

Best thing to do is add long tube headers, ditch cats. 1 3/4" primaries.

1. Be aware that some long tube headers are 1 5/8" and others are 1 3/4". That means the inside diameter is 1 1/2" or 1 5/8". Personally, I feel the lt1/4 cars are better suited with 1 3/4" headers. However Ive argued that out with people on here until we've all been blue in the face and each of us still has our own beliefs.

1. Mufflers are the critical part on there if you want to avoid highway drone/resonance be sure to carefully pick out the mufflers.

2. I run dynomax (no longer available new) super turbo's for corvette lt1 w/ lt1 rectangle tips. They are kind of quiet. In fact, most people may think they are too quiet. However, im on the verge of getting rid of the resonator for an x-pipe and I may appreciate their muffling capabilities once I get rid of x-pipe.

3. You can replace the resonator with an x-pipe (will prob need to farm it out to a local exhaust shop as commercially available x-pipes arent narrow enough to fit in the tunnel).

If you do those 3 things you will make your stock system perform as good/better than aftermarket systems. Remember your stock system has 2.75" dual pipes (vs. corsa's 2.5" dual pipes) - except at the muffler and resonator areas where it necks down to 2.25".

OK. personally I dont like the corsa's 'european' small-displacement motor sound. But I must be an exception because there are many people here that absolutely love the corsa.

All this said, people with the corsa's have produced a notable power improvement without the highway drone/resonance.

Just be sure to listen to the sound of a corsa (youtube?) before you buy it blindly.

B&B 2 1/2", great looks, and has the deep muscle car rumble.

But with a stock LT-1 you will not see much horsepower gains with an aftermarket exhaust system, the stocks flow very well.

I loved my Corsa catback. Not sure what my opinion is on Corsa+headers, we'll see when I get my set on(seems a little raspy in videos). Borla is nice as well, although stingers drone.

Youtube videos can be deceptive though. I was skeptical when I heard corsa on youtube, but I loved it in person.

Ive spoken via PM with many aftermarket exhaust systems owners and it all comes down to this:

For no drone at low RPMS using OEM manifolds and cats, headers with no cats or hi-flow cats....Corsa is the one. Corsa owners tell me it is an easy bolt on installation.

Magnaflow, Borla, Flowmasters and others will drone at highway speeds or low RPMS between 1700-2000 RPMS.

Two days ago, I re-installed the OEM cats on my 96 and that reduced the Magnaflow drone down by 60%. Now its not as bad and I think I can live with it. I just was not comfortable expending $1,100-$1,300 on a Corsa system.

I considered the Stainless Work exhaust but, it is not a bolt on, it requires modifications and the exhaust tips are fugly.

If money is no object, I'd recommend the 3" B&B (Billy Boat) system. It's all 304 stainless, excellent quality, top-notch craftsmanship. That's what I run, but I did replace the center resonator with a couple 3" 304 stainless straight pipe sections to make it a little louder and to shave some weight. It sounds great to me, a little resonance and drone, but I don't mind. The lack of an H or X pipe likely gives up a little torque, but the true seperate duals kinda makes it sound like an old sidepipe car. In my opinion, compared to friends/co-workers who have had C4's with Corsa and Magnaflow, B&B sounds so much better.

The SW system uses all of the factory hangers if you order it that way. I did. Order selection is "Factory Connect" on the order form.
Not sure where you got the idea that it requires 'modifications' unless your source did not order it configured properly.

And the exhaust tips... are identical to the factory tips, which I like.
Obviously, if you like something else than what the factory offered, there are plenty out there to choose from to make it your own.
