It's just another symptom of the "insert discount superstore name here" syndrome.
Support your local chevy dealer, and find your local AC Delco distributor. You will still occasionally get the wrong part, but the frequency will be less. OEM quality, and if you spend enough you will earn a discount.

I buy 90% of my parts from chevy dealers. Either the one by me or Jeff Kopp in Kansas. In fact a box from Jeff came yesterday. :) Little things like gaskets are "usually" just so much easier to get down the street.
GM Stoopidbuyer's retail: $175
GM jobber cost - local dealership: $125 (through club discount)
GMpartsdirect.com - $65 +$12 s&h
Find another dealer or order from Jeff Kopp as scorp said. Every time that I have checked GMpartsdirect they have been higher. GMpartsdirect is always higher than true jobber (sounds like you club discount is not GM's jobber price). Jeff Kopp will sell to you at true jobber.
Amen to lighten up. A friend of mine used to work in a parts house and the tales he would tell about some customers are really enlightening. I don't expect the guys in there to be walking parts encyclopedias but I do expect fast friendly service. And that is a whole 'nother thread! :)
I'm so glad I've finally gotten to the point with the guys at Advance and at the dealer that they realize that I know more than them. They just turn the computer screen toward me and let me drive. :yesnod:
