Hi guy I had a question about my stock 85' it seems to have a knock when on the the gas heavly or at full throtle. I read a thread where a similar guy on this fourm had this problem and he recomended a adjustale fuel presure regulator but I wanted some more advice thanks for reading.

Could be the valve train or the lower end, try checking the timing. Does it sound like valves or lower end?
Could be detonation (Pinging)? Sounds like marbles rolling around ?
It could be many things.Cheap Gas,Bad Knock Sensor.Timing to high for some reason. Did it set a code? Or Could be an engine issue. Bad main or Rod Brg's,Wrisr Pin, Piston Slap. etc.Let an experienced mechanic listen to it if your not sure.

We really need to hear it. Could be loose lifter. I'd check the timing. Do you use high octane?
Before you take it to your mechanic and pay him to listen to it, why not fill it up all the way with 93 octane and pour in a bottle of the stuff that displaces water. I forgot the name of that stuff.
thanks for the info guys, I have a trusted mech. who won't charge me for giveing him a ride to see if he can here something but thanks for the advise anyway but will let everyone know what he says, I don't think it is anything major but more an anoyance.

6 is stock, I run mine at 8. a little advance never hurt. don't forget to disconnect the plug by the booster before you time, at temp.
