I would like to remove as many electronic components & emission controls as possible and still keep my car running. I will be removing the instrument cluster, power windows, power seats, and maybe a few other things. I will be installing mechanical gauges like tachometer, fuel, oil psi, water temp, a gps for the speedometer, ect... Any ideas?

If all you want to do is dump the factory gauges ; no problem.
If you get into any of the computer or CCM electronics then big problems .
Only way around them is to remove the EFI completely ( injection / computer / wiring )
and install a carb

OK, if you really want to you can remover the AIR system and the EGR system with a new chip and block off plates. Hope you don't have emissions inspection in your area.
Everything else is run off the ECM and CCM. If you want there are a few dataloggers that include a "dash" componnent that would get you GPS based speedometer.
Get thee a factory service manual, read and understand the electrical sections and understand the affect of what changes you want to make.
As part of my long range plan replacing the current dash with something more suitable for the race car is where I'm heading - huge Tach, oil temp lights, water temp lights, oil pressure is all I need. Of course this is a couple years off.
I'm confused...this is an easy thing to do. Why all the negativity?
The only thing you need to do is tune out the security and CCM from your ECU.
I've been running aftermarket guages for years.
Tach comes right out of the ECU. For oil pressure I run a hose right to the back of the intake. I wired the coolant temp sensor right to the guage but you can get that from the ECU as well. I ran a mechanical oil temp guage and also use the signal from the ECU...
I don't have a speedo, but you can get an electrical one.

Thanks for the info you have been the most helpful person on this forum. Some of the morons that imputed all they want to do is make wisecracks about what I want to do with MY car and not give any useful info. Oh yeah I checked out their whoopies and from what I've seen they shouldn't say jack their rides look like pooh
