The reason the light is on is because you have a fault;
is usual to fix the fault rather than pretend it does not exist
"I have a broken exhaust so I will put earplugs in so I can't hear it" scenario

What do you expect?
You come to a site dedicated to preserving C4 's with some vague description of how you want to butcher (rat rod ) one up and expect congratulations?

So you are telling me if you if one of your neighbors paints his house a color not of your taste or puts a fence that you don't like then it's ok to burn his house down and run over his fence with your truck. It's his property to do what he wants to do with it. I didn't post "how to make a rat-rod" I just wanted to know I could REMOVE and still have the car run.

Personal choice is personal choice.
Some of us on here are more liberal about mods than others,
who believe changing the lug nuts from stock is a sin
As I said , just don't expect alot of support from the purists. Majority of guys with aftermarket gauges have dedicated , stripped out race cars like ScaryFast

Best of luck with your project. I will say this, getting help might be an issue. ScaryFast and a few others with purpose built C4 race cars will be your best guidance. Few have aftermarket gauges etc...in their cars, including me and I'm one of the rare Corvette owners that uses it for car shows, cruises, auto-x, drag strip, etc....I'm fairly happy with the stock stuff and have no need or want to change it so I'm not much help. If you want to retain the fuel injection, etc...the ECM will be needed. However, there is carb manifolds for LT1's. If you wanted to go old school.

That's cool I can understand where you're comming from but, if I had perfect or near perfect interior, an engine with everything that come from factory, and good paint that would be the way I would go. That's not the case for me I would need to replace about 95 precent of the interior, about 30 precent of the things under the hood, and who knows what else that may surface. If you do the math it would probibly be in the $20k range between the body work, paint, new seats, carpets, dash, console, visers, steering column, missing engine parts, ect... Make long story short I bit off more than I could chew with this project. If I unlimited funds or people lined up give parts it wouldn't be a big deal, but their not. If I'm gonna invest that kind of $$$ I just a soon buy 2nd hand C6 a couple of years old, that has low mileage, old and a little warranty. I'm just trying to make cool weekend cruiser that's not gonna cost me a arm and a leg. Have happy holiday and be safe
