1986 Vette convertible w/manual trans. My rad core is leaking; before getting it recored or buying a new radiator, I need to find out what this sensor is and how it comes out...
GM manual and/or parts listing doesn't show anything in this radiator...
Single spade connector; a green wire connects to it...
Mine broke as well. I went to the Chevy dealer, but it's been discontinued. I couldn't find anyone that sourced it, and since my car is track only, I just put a rubber vacuum cap around it with a hose clamp (Dewitts Radiator). Possibly RTV it, though I'm not sure how well that would work.
On a street car though, it would be nice to have. It's the coolant level sensor I believe.
Low coolant sensor. It is easy to remove, but you have to put something in the hole once you take it out as the coolant will run out. The part should be readily available from nuumerous sources.

Yup, it is. That sensor you linked is for Be Cool radiators only; not for GM/Delphi radiators. Rock Auto has the sensor, and the replacement Delphi radiator. (I also ordered an AC Delco water pump, just 'cause)...
My sensor has the locking ears broken off, and my local radiator shop pressure tested my radiator and said one tank is cracked, and they don't have a replacement. So, since Rock Auto say they have all three parts, I ordered from them.
